Flappy Bird is about as stripped-down as a game gets: one button, one bird, and a row of green pipes that never stops coming. Dong Nguyen's original became a phenomenon in 2014 because it was so easy to understand and so hard to master. Every tap makes the bird flap upward, gravity pulls it back down, and a single touch of a pipe or the ground ends the run on the spot.
A session is short and stubborn. Most runs end within a few pipes, you see your score, and you tap again. There are no levels, power-ups or unlockables to chase; the only progress is your own best number. If you come here from Run 3 for a break from long tunnel runs, this is the opposite pace: no distance to cover, just one narrow gap at a time.
How to play
Click the game, or press the space bar or up arrow, to flap. On a touchscreen, tap anywhere. That is the whole control scheme. The bird moves forward on its own at a constant speed, so you only ever decide when to flap.
Each pipe pair you pass scores a point. The gap height is fixed, but its position changes from pair to pair, so you are constantly adjusting: a small climb for a high gap, a few skipped flaps to drop toward a low one.
Tips
- Tap rhythmically, not frantically. Each flap gives the same small lift, so a steady cadence keeps the bird level and lets you make small corrections.
- Look at the next gap, not the bird. Judging the height difference to the upcoming opening lets you start the climb or fall early.
- Stay near the middle of the screen between pipes. From there you can reach a high or low gap with the fewest flaps.
- Don't chase a score in the first few minutes. The timing is something you feel, and it usually clicks after a handful of short attempts.

If one-input timing is what you like, Slope and Tunnel Rush ask for quick steering reactions at high speed, but they reward holding a line rather than pressing one button. OvO adds proper platforming with jumps and slides, and Going Balls turns the same reflex test into a rolling obstacle course. Rolly Vortex and Color Tunnel sit between them, with rhythmic dodging inside a spinning tube.
Flappy Bird suits a minute or two at a time. It runs in the browser with nothing to install, works with a mouse, keyboard or touch, and is easy to pick up whenever you want a quick challenge.
Questions about Flappy Bird
Is Flappy Bird unblocked at school?
Flappy Bird runs in an ordinary browser tab from run3-unblocked.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.
How do I control the bird in Flappy Bird?
Click the game, press the space bar or the up arrow, or tap the screen on a touch device. Each input makes the bird flap upward once; gravity does the rest.
How do I score points?
You earn one point for every pair of pipes the bird passes through. Touching a pipe or the ground ends the run and you start again from zero.
Does Flappy Bird work on a phone or Chromebook?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so it works with a mouse, keyboard or touchscreen; you only need one input to play.
Is there more to the game than the endless pipes?
No. It is a single endless mode where the only goal is beating your own best score.
